I am quite happy with my new 2022 Honda Insight. It has an electric motor, Lithium battery pack and 1.5L gas engine, all three. Getting 70 mpg with several certain protocols.

Chevy Bolt > F150 Lightning

Do we want to be attached to the moderately improved smart car? Lol

Lightning is chalked full of electrical BOLTS.

Electrify America Charging Stations are another natural marketing partner.

      I can go all day.

Not one mention of Lucid here (full disclosure, I'm an investor). Running circles around Tesla already with a 520-mile range & deliveries to begin later this month.

We're fast approaching the stage where the men are separated from the boys.

Musk should have talked GM into buying him out while he could.

A few Lucid's have been seen on Bay Area roads.

I have driven past corporate headquarters in Newark and observed a whole clump of these beauties, a few months ago.

Frankly, I had never heard of them and could only say "what the hell is that ? "

          Very, very impressive product.

The 540 mile range is significant, as there are stories of holiday lines half mile long at the Buttonwillow Tesla charging station.

            Impressive
            From C&D…..

            Range, Charging, and Battery Life

The Air has the longest range of any electric vehicle currently on the market, according to EPA estimates. The Dream Edition Range model should go for 520 miles on a single charge, while the Dream Edition Performance should travel about 471 miles. The base model has an estimated driving range of 406 miles, matching the Touring model. The Air features a 112.0-kWh battery pack and DC fast-charging capability. Plugged into the latter, the sedan is said to be able to recoup 300 miles of range in 20 minutes. New owners will also enjoy three years of complimentary (read: free) fast-charging at Electrify America charging stations. There's no cap on how many times owners can charge their cars, as long as it's used for personal and not commercial purposes.

If I owned an all electric car, I’d be watching out for wireless charging. It’s got to happen, eventually.

the fact that elon sold more shares is making me even more bullish on tesla. price only going down cos he is selling shares. next few years this is going to explode, again.

Chargering and calling Staley BS is appropriate.

How long until someone starts selling supplemental battery packs that you carry around in the trunk that will get you a few extra miles when you fail to plan properly? Sort of like gas cans for ICE cars?

Batteries are the heaviest part of the vehicle so carrying a spare would decrease your range too much.

Totally OT but Tesla announced huge discounts today,

So in addition to the $13,000 price drop, the base Model Y is another $7,500 cheaper for those who qualify for the full tax credit, meaning a Model Y ordered today could be more than $20K cheaper than one ordered yesterday – assuming delivery is taken before mid-March, when the tax credit is expected to be reduced.

I'm equating a battery 'gas can' to carrying a 5 gallon can around in your trunk. Both may weigh 40 lbs or so, but if it gets you to the next gas station (or charging station) without a tow it's worth it.

Good to hear that the Tesla pricing is getting adjusted - now if they only had the range for my commute . . . .
