JVC Burrito in Pasadena and Norma's Taco's!

In San Diego I use to LOVE San Simion but they are gone. I do miss the San Diego style Filiburto's Roberto's chains though!

Filiberto's has the best carne asada burrito in SD IMO. It's on University right off of the 805. Best 5 bucks spent.

Tacos el Gordo is Chula Vista is a solid choice. Some others are: Aqui es Texcoco in Chula Vista for lamb (they only serve lamb, including the whole head, if you want it...), TJ Oyster in Bonita for seafood, Mariscos German taco truck around 30th and Elm in South Park, I especially like their gubernador and garlic shrimp tacos, their fish tacos are meh (but cheap).

It's also been quite awhile, but I used to really like JV's on Morena, especially their Sonoran Quesadilla (a quesadilla with bacon, who could have thought of that?). Their burritos are renowned for being inexpensive and gigantic.

Thanks for the sympathy. Fortunately, I'm also a lover of sushi and sashimi, and we have a second apartment within a few minutes walk from Tsukiji, and you can't believe the fucking sushi you can get there. The chuu-toro is un-fucking-believable. So there's that.

Have you seen Jiro Dreams of Sushi. I've watched it 5-6 times. I love that movie. Reminds me of my favorite place in SF.
