PC games that go way back

Descent 1 goes way back. The single player was OK but the deathmatch maps were really fun. Someone back then made a popular user made deathmatch map called "Minerva." I remember using a CH Flightstick Pro for it. I'd go buy one again today if people were still playing it. It was a blast.

Quake II footage. I'm blast the mini-gunners sarge's head off and he keeps his mini-gun shooting at me. Classic. Corridor walls making weird computer like noises. If you bothered one of those wall "Brain synapses" chopping up your kills, it was best not to shoot at them. Allow them to assassinate the remains and go back into the walls.

Don't mess with these bitches, tho you have to.

Ultima 1/2/3 got me started i think. Apple 2GS

        Castle Wolfenstein

I think in the mid 90s it was games like Doom, Hexen, Duke Nukem, Quake series. Then Unreal Tournament got me hooked.

Stopped playing for 15 years or so and then picked up a 360. Really only play the Borderlands series now.

I often remissness about the golden days of PC games. Every week there was some new game announced that made me save my money to upgrade to the latest video card. New games back then were revolutionary, not just evolutionary. It was truly an exciting time. Nowadays, $500 graphic cards play games that are more technically evolved, visually, and that's about it. It has to be that way, no going back. Onward and upwards!

Atari is opening theme based hotels. To make sure the experience is true to life, they'll want to hook up appliances to ac/dc converters, that, when left plugged into the wall socket for any length of time...go bad. Anyone remember having to be sure to unplug the ac/dc converter when not using the Atari 2600 or it would go bad? Within a day or two left plugged in? Hahaha!

I went over to a friends house way back when to play his Apple II+ and discovered Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (Identify 9 baby). I was hooked. I saved up money working the grill at McDonald's and bought my 1st computer, an Apple IIe. I played Wizardry 2: Knight of Diamonds, Wizardry 3: Legacy of Llylgamyn, Bard's Tale 1 & 2, and the Ultima series 1, 2 & 3 through High School and Undergrad. Damn I miss the fun of those games.

I'm betting it's more like their purchase of Federated, and simply loses lots of money. You think they would have learned from that.

Fry's Electronics stores are closing down. It's all delivery now. Less going to the store. End of an era maybe. The end of the term "brick and mortar store."

We constantly forget about something and turn our attention to new technologies, new games and consoles. For example, completely different games are now popular, but they will soon become a thing of the past. Cryptocurrency and games that are built on it are now popular. You can see more information in the bit coin casino blog, if you are interested.
