Why so picky! Hes on the payroll!
Will be interesting to see if Williams gets a few plays this week. Id give him 10 plays where we can put him in a lower quality db and make him sn early read. I would expect if he can practice he can get a few plays in.

The more i watch Williams move around and looking at how big he is.....i think he will be able to do some things that an Evan Engram can do with the Giants. Line up close to the OL standing up like Gates does in the flex and really attack the seam. There is no better skinny post/seem passer than Drew Brees and its hard to do without a really athletic TE. Rivers is almost as deadly and puts the ball up high. And its a quick hit play that dosnt take a lot of time to develop. Helps the OL. Williams is not a Martavis Bryant type guy who is built really light despite his height. Williams is very well put together and may end up gaining a little weight in a pro weight room.
All im saying is that i dont expect him to be an exclusive split or flank. I can see him in many spots. Flex. Slot. Outside. Something nobody ever talks about with him is his run blocking ability. His perimeter run blocks are great but i think he can also block lined up closer to the tackle in a flex and really help out Melvin. And run routes from that spot in play action. A lighter more athletic TE.
I would be shocked if hes an exclusive out wide type guy. We may not have a choice but to slide him inside with an OL that cant block and give WRs time to get open.

Where does he play?
Assuming Keenan stays healthy( I know, big if!) Williams is battling Benjamin for the 5th best receiver on the team. Keenan, Tyrell, Gates, Hunter, and to this point, Benjamin, are all MILES ahead of MW.

Braxton Miller and Will Fuller are struggling somewhat in Houston. Send Tyrell who has this year and next year(RFA) to Houston for Duane Brown and extend him for 3 years. Give the rookie QB Watson a huge target. Keep Okung but move him to RT. Get Lamp back at RG next year...
LT - Brown
LG - Slausson
C - Pulley
RG - Lamp
RT - Okung
Obviously that could be a risk for this year because Williams may not be durable. Same with Allen. But it certainly upgrades our pass protection. The interior run blocking is the big issue however.
