This is Rivers' favorite system, it has all his favorite routes and plays from college days that McCoy installed here, it allows him to direct the protection to help out the OL, it allows him to read the defense better.
We won't go to another system before Rivers' retirement, certainly not Andy Reid's West Coast system and his coaching trees. The West Coast offense fits mobile QBs like Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Farve, Alex Smith etc., not slow statue pocket QB like Rivers, Brady, Brees. Rivers read the defense, stays in the pocket and throw to timing routes. He's not a move out of the pocket and improvise and look for open man out of broken plays. His skillset doesn't fit the West Coast offense.
So if not Whiz then it has to be a promotion from within.Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se

If we don't make the AFC Championship game next year I'd move on from Whiz. It would be nice if the Chargers had a good in-house signing or a up and coming coordinator ready in the wings. They'll be some good College coaches we could look too and in the NFL some re-treads will be around to consider.

Those are facts. And I am agreeable.
I want to get a QB now so he's ready to roll in 2021. Just like Philip Rivers was brought into the league.
I was hoping to discuss offensive options, as change is gonna come real soon.

Easy, Mike Martz. I want a proven commodity who has shown that he can scheme an offense. Rivers is smart and would pick up on the offense and to be honest it might just help Rivers to play longer. Our Wrs are actually pretty good fits for the system as well and if nothing else they are good enough to adapt to it. I think Allen would be amazing in this sort of system.
