COMMENTARY | Navigating the 2013 season with an 11-5 mark, the Kansas City Chiefs could not escape the ridicule of having the fortune of a relatively easy draw -- having played just five teams (a total of seven games) with a record of .500 or better, and only notching wins against the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles in those games. Kansas City's five losses came against the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers (twice each), and the Indianapolis Colts, who the Chiefs would also lose to in the opening round of the playoffs. By virtue of the NFL's scheduling rotation, Kansas City is slated to play teams in the AFC East and NFC West in 2014. And by finishing second place in their division, the Chiefs also draw the other two second-place teams in the conference (Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans).
