    Chargers’ Melvin Ingram gives harsh assessment of team’s season

    Defensive end Melvin Ingram was not about to look on the bright side when reflecting upon the Los Angeles Chargers’ 2018 season. Ingram’s Chargers saw their season end with a 41-28 blowout loss at New England on Sunday. Though the Chargers went 12-4 and won a playoff game, Ingram wasn’t in the mood to hear about those accomplishments following the defeat. ESPN’s Eric Williams quoted Ingram saying the team hadn’t accomplished anything because they did not win the Super Bowl. Fans have to love Ingram’s attitude. It’s Super Bowl-or-bust for him. That’s the mentality of true winners. And even if Ingram isn’t willing to give himself and his team credit, we will. The Chargers were one of the best teams in the NFL and had a fantastic season. If not for the NFL’s quirky playoff structure that prioritizes winning divisions over best record, they wouldn’t have had to play at New England or Baltimore in the postseason.
