Report: Chargers shocked at Philip Rivers' inaccuracy, could bench him

The Los Angeles Chargers could finally be ready to bench Philip Rivers for Tyrod Taylor, as the team is reportedly stunned at how inaccurate Rivers has been in 2019. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports addressed the situation in his latest video mailbag session. Glazer noted that the Chargers would prefer to have Rivers playing at the top of his game, but due to his issues with ball security and accuracy they could start Taylor at some point this season. Speaking of Rivers’ issues, he’s second in the NFL with 15 interceptions in 12 games played, with Jameis Winston being the league leader (20). On the season, Rivers has completed 64.7 percent of his passes, which isn’t a bad mark. However, when he’s been off, he’s been really, really off (like this) and has cost his team wins on more than one occasion. The Chargers reportedly are eyeing one of the top quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft and appear to be ready to move on, regardless, next season.
