Like Tom Brady, Philip Rivers has given us a few signs over the past several months that he may be setting the stage to leave the team with which he has spent his entire career. The latest, and perhaps most noteworthy, is moving his family across the country. Earlier this week, Ben Higgins of ABC 10News in San Diego reported that Rivers and his family had left San Diego to move to Florida. The quarterback confirmed that in a text message to ESPN on Sunday morning, saying that he has “permanently” moved to Florida to be closer to his extended family. “What this means football-wise is to be determined but it was time for us to move back closer to home,” Rivers said. Rivers was born and raised in Alabama, so he still considers the southeast home. Of course, some will speculate that his move to Florida could be a hint that he intends to sign with the Miami Dolphins, who are still in need of a quarterback after their acquisition of Josh Rosen the last offseason did not work out.
