    Can Purdue football stop Lamar Jackson?

    The Purdue football team has one of the toughest tests in college football week one. The team must figure out how to stop one guy, last year’s Heisman trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Louisville Cardinals. Jackson was the run away (literally) Heisman favorite since he sprayed 350 yards and five total touchdowns on then No. 2 Florida State. Jackson boasted video game numbers the rest of the season, totaling over 5000 all-purpose yards and 51 touchdowns. He came back to earth in Louisville’s last three games, and that could be Purdue’s advantage.
    Defenses started to figure out how to stop Jackson. Throwing seven, eight, or even nine in the box stifles Jackson’s running ability and forces him to use his arm. Houston and LSU used their solid defensive front seven to stop Jackson. Purdue has that opportunity as well with their front seven. Purdue legitimately has four starting linebackers on their depth chart. And it is likely defensive coordinator Nick Holt will play all of them at once in
