(Sorry if this offends, Sooner fans).31-point underdogs entering the contest, the Cyclones would hold serve at home. Down 24-10 at one point, Iowa State would outscore Oklahoma 25-7 in the second half. But, they needed a big 3rd down conversion late in the game to do so. And wouldn’t you know it… What an incredible throw. Moreover, what an incredible catch with the defender right in his face. You couldn’t place it any better than that.And to be honest, there wasn’t much more Oklahoma’s corner could have done there. Still, the Sooners would have just over two minutes to drive the field and tie it up. But it was not to be.The Big 12 is in for a seismic shift this coming week, while Oklahoma’s playoff chances might be dead in the water.
