NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football 2018 signee Brant Lawless is an early example of what coach Jeremy Pruitt is looking fro in a player.
The athletic 6-foot-2, 285-pound Lawless was recruited by Ohio State, Georgia and Alabama, among others. Lawless, however, chose the Vols out of Nashville Christian to stay closer to his family.
Pruitt surely likes the athleticism and team attitude Lawless brings to the table It’s similar to what fellow middle Tennessee defensive line signee Greg Emerson showed in spring football by moving to the offensive line to help the team.
“As a defensive lineman, that’s what we want to do, play defense, but when it comes to a time to help the team, you have to lose those thoughts and think positive and be a team player,” Lawless told SEC Country at Nashville Christian High School on Monday.
