LSU and Cincinnati have been granted permission to speak to potential graduate transfer quarterback Joe Burrow, according to two reports.The Advocate’s Ross Delenger and SI’s Andy Staples both say the two schools have already been granted permission to contact Burrow. Burrow announced on Twitter Tuesday that he would be leaving Ohio State as a graduate transfer. Burrow redshirted in 2015 and then was JT Barrett’s backup in 2016. He broke his hand as a sophomore last year and lost the backup job to Dwayne Haskins, who performed so well against Michigan — and the rest of the season — that he had the upper-hand to become the starter in 2018. On top of Haskins, Ohio State also has Tate Martell on the depth chart, meaning they were stacked with three excellent QB options. Though Burrow played well in the spring game, Urban Meyer must have told him that Haskins would be the starter, leading Burrow to seek a transfer so he could play.Burrow is 29-39 (74.4 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns in his career.
