    Minnesota Football: Transfer Impacts Quarterback Situation

    Late Saturday evening, it was announced that Minnesota Golden ***hers quarterback Vic Viramontes has decided to transfer from the university after only being with the team since January. Viramontes is reportedly transferring back to Riverside Community College in California where he played before transferring to Minnesota. He wanted to be closer to home and now he will likely make a position change to linebacker while playing at Riverside Community College before deciding on where he will transfer to next.
    Despite being the top-ranked dual-threat junior college quarterback in the country when he was recruited to the ***hers, Viramontes did not play well in Spring practice. In the team’s Spring game, he fumbled twice and received significantly less reps than quarterbacks Tanner Morgan and Zack Annexstad.
