Hokies QB Josh Jackson leaves game with ankle injury

Just when fans thought Saturday’s close battle against winless Old Dominion couldn’t get any worse, it did. Virginia Tech quarterback Josh Jackson exited the game with an injury. As Jackson attempted to lead Virginia Tech on a critical drive in the fourth quarter with the game locked in a 28-28 tie, the sophomore went down with an ankle injury and needed assistance to get off the field. He was replaced by junior Ryan Willis, and as the drive stalled for Virginia Tech, its fan base was left holding its breath as Jackson was carted off into the locker room to undergo X-rays on his ankle. The Hokies entered the week 2-0 and ranked No. 13 in the country. Now they are without their starting quarterback and facing real odds of losing in what would be one of the biggest upsets in football.
