    ESPN apologizes for James Carville’s comments about SEC commissioner

    ESPN on Saturday apologized for James Carville’s comments about SEC commissioner Greg Sankey during the commentator’s appearance on “College GameDay” earlier in the day. Carville, a famous political commentator who attended LSU, appeared on “GameDay” from Baton Rouge Saturday, the site of the big LSU-Alabama game later in the day. Carville, like many LSU fans, has been outraged over the targeting penalty called on Devin White against Mississippi State that will keep the Tigers LB out of the first half of the game. Carville then hinted at a conspiracy theory aimed at helping Alabama: Carville similarly bashed the SEC over the penalty in comments to TMZ. “I would trust the Saudi government more than I’d trust the SEC. He (White) is our best player we got, no reason he shouldn’t be playing,” Carville told TMZ. ESPN, which owns the SEC Network, apologized at halftime of the Texas A&M-Auburn game for Carville’s comments. “We have an apology to make on behalf of ESPN.
