    Snell plans to play in bowl game, eyeing Kentucky’s all-time rushing record

    For the increasing number of star players who decide to skip their team’s bowl game to preserve their draft stock, Benny Snell likely won’t be one of them. After No. 15-ranked Kentucky thumped Louisville 56-10 on Saturday, Snell, the dynamic junior running back, said he was planning to play in the team’s bowl game, in part with an eye on setting the school’s all-time rushing record. “As of now, I’m playing in the bowl game. I’m not done yet,” said Snell, per Tyler Thompson of Kentucky Sports Radio. “To add on to this, it’s not really important, but I keep it in my mind. The all-time rushing record, I got 100 tonight, so I need 100 more, and the bowl game would help me with that.” After Saturday’s game, Snell sits at 3,729 yards rushing for his Wildcats career. Sonny Collins set the school’s all-time record back in 1975 with 3,835 career yards, meaning that Snell needs exactly 107 yards to break the record.
