Since he stepped foot onto the field for the Memphis Tigers, junior wide receiver Tony Pollard has been an explosive return man. He demonstrated that again on Saturday in the Birmingham Bowl with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, which tied an NCAA record. Midway through the second quarter, after Wake Forest drilled a field goal to cut Memphis’ lead to 21-10, Pollard answered immediately with the explosiveness everyone has grown accustomed to over the years.
