Watch: Bald eagle soars at Cotton Bowl, lands on fans

It seemed like a great idea to have a bald eagle fly around AT&T Stadium before the College Football Playoff semifinal game between Clemson and Notre Dame — on paper, at least. The problem is that bald eagles can’t really be contained, and tend to play by their own rules. That was on display when a bald eagle flew around AT&T Stadium during the national anthem Saturday. Everything seemed to be going as planned, until the bird of prey began landing on random fans. Eventually, though, after a few tense moments, it landed on one particular fan, and a man that was presumed to be one of its handlers appeared. The man was eventually able to get the bald eagle to leave on his shoulder, as you can see in the video clip below. That situation could’ve turned ugly in a matter of seconds, so we’re glad that both the eagle and the fans turned out OK.
