The Arizona Cardinals have done everything they can to try and squash the notion that rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury wants Kyler Murray. But on Monday Murray himself threw a bit of fuel on that fire with an acknowledgement that he would relish the chance to play for the NFC West franchise. “At the end of the day, they’re going to do what’s best for them,” Murray said Monday night while picking up his Davey O’Brien Award, via Chuck Carlton of The Dallas Morning News. “I can’t go into it with any expectations of being taken by the Cardinals. That would be nice for sure.” For what it’s worth, we recently envisioned an admittedly far-fetched scenario where Arizona does take Murray No. 1 overall and still keeps Josh Rosen. The reason there is so much smoke behind this idea is, of course, that Kingsbury himself has said in the not-so-distant past that he’d take Murray No. 1 overall if he had the chance.
