    After offseason arrest, Florida CB Brian Edwards becomes latest to transfer from Gators

    Two months after being arrested on a first-degree misdemeanor battery charge that was later dropped by the state attorney, Florida Gators junior cornerback Brian Edwards has announced that he will leave the program and enter the NCAA transfer portal. He is the sixth Gators football player to transfer this offseason. “First, I want to say thank you to the University of Florida for all they have done for me for the past two years. Unfortunately, I will be entering the transfer portal and looking to further my education and athletic ability elsewhere,” Edwards wrote in a Twitter announcement (edited for clarity). “This was a very tough decision for me. I have built great relationships, impacted others, and grown so much throughout my time attending the university.
