Can the fifth year become a consistent starter on the line? The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2019 season. #57 Trevor Ruhland, Offensive Line The 6’4”, 295-pounder out of Cary, IL has been a fairly consistent reserve for the ND offensive line the last three seasons. He finally earned his first start last season against Wake Forest when he moved into the left guard spot, then moved to the right side against Navy. He made three other starts and played in nine games total on the season. Prior to that, he saw action in 14 total games throughout 2016 and 2017. Ruhland unfortunately wasn’t able to participate in spring ball this year due to an injury that required arthroscopic surgery in the offseason.
