Jim Harbaugh says Michigan will use two-QB system

Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines head into the 2019 college football season as playoff hopefuls. A lot of this will depend on how the quarterback position plays out. Money has been on Mississippi transfer Shea Patterson remaining the starter. But in talking to the media on Friday, Harbaugh noted that he plans on using a two-quarterback system. More than that, the popular head coach indicated that both Patterson and junior Dylan McCaffrey could play in each game. This is definitely a bold strategy for Mr. Harbaugh. Patterson excelled in his first season with the Wolverines, throwing 22 touchdown passes compared to just seven interceptions en route to leading Michigan to a 10-3 record. Meanwhile, McCaffrey has thrown a total of 15 passes in two seasons with the Wolverines. Michigan opens up against Middle Tennessee State on Aug. 31. It then has what could be a difficult game against Army the following week before heading to Madison to take on the conference rival Wisconsin Badgers.
