    Ex-UCLA RB Craig Lee arrested for attempted murder from weed shop incident

    Former UCLA running back Craig Lee allegedly took part in an attempted robbery gone wrong at a marijuana dispensary several years ago, and he is now facing serious charges stemming from the incident. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Lee and two other men entered Kings Palace Marijuana Dispensary in Jurupa Valley, Calif., on June 30, 2016, and one of the men from the group shot a store employee during an altercation. Lee and the other two suspects fled when a store security guard returned fire, and they were no longer there when police arrived. The case has been investigated for the past three years, and prosecutors believe Lee and the two others were trying to orchestrate a robbery that went wrong. A key witness in the case said Lee’s role “was to grab drugs and money and run.” A warrant was issued for Lee’s arrest last month, and he was arrested last Friday and charged with attempted murder and attempted robbery.
