This is not how Clemson transfer Kelly Bryant wanted to start his first and only season with Missouri. Bryant was carted off the field Tuesday with what appeared to be a lower-body injury during Tigers’ practice. Missouri head coach Barry Odom attempted to downplay the significance of the injury, indicating that it was a mere hamstring strain, per Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Guys are banged up,” Odom said. “Kelly went down today for a little bit with a hamstring strain. Albert went down with a knee sprain. Those guys will be back. Jordan Elliott got dinged up a little bit. I hate it. That’s the worst part of this deal. But injuries are going to happen.” Bryant was named Missouri’s starting quarterback a short while after he announced his decision to transfer back in December. The senior posted a 16-2 record as Clemson’s starter in 2017 and 2018 before being replaced under center by Trevor Lawrence about a month into last season.
