    Stats are deceiving sometimes. It’s a difficult task to compare two sets of numbers and formulate some type of deep analysis. In the case of Alabama’s pass defense last season, the numbers are pretty clear. The first 12 games of the 2018 season were not too bad with Alabama allowing 165 yards per game with 12 total touchdowns and 9.3 yards per completion. The last three games saw Alabama give up an average of 318 yards for 15 yards per completion with eight touchdowns allowed. The national title game with Clemson clearly stood out with Alabama giving up 347 passing yards, three touchdowns and two plays over 60 yards (62, 74).
