Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Tennessee Volunteers, they got worse. The Vols got embarrassed at home by Georgia State last week to start 0-1. Then they blew a lead on Saturday and lost at home to BYU in double-overtime 29-26. The Vols have now started the season 0-2 for the first time since 1988. Their embarrassing coaching search that saw them run through multiple candidates, hire one and dump him, switch ADs, and then decide upon Jeremy Pruitt has been surpassed only by the brutal start to 2019. As soon as BYU pushed its way into the end zone to win the game, the Twitter reactions came. Tennessee led 13-3 at halftime, 13-10 going into the fourth quarter and never trailed in regulation. The Volunteers had BYU backed up to a second-and-18 at the Cougars' 8-yard-line with 31 seconds left in regulation. And then they blew it. It’s going to be a long, long week in Knoxville.
