Watch: Cincinnati scores weird touchdown on bizarre fumble

The Cincinnati Bearcats scored perhaps the strangest touchdown of Saturday’s action against Marshall. Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder was hit as he threw from his own 7-yard line, and most of the players on the field stopped as if it were an incomplete pass. Not tight end Josiah Deguara, who picked up the ball and rolled into the end zone. The ruling was that Ridder had fumbled, Deguara had picked up the live ball and the Bearcats had a touchdown — a ruling that stood after review. This was mostly a footnote, as Cincinnati was already up 21-0 and heading for a win. It’s still a fun one — and it’s kind of a trend for a Cincinnati team that seems oddly prone to scoring strange touchdowns.
