Watch: Auburn’s Big Kat Bryant caught faking injury against LSU

The Auburn Tigers’ defense had a rough time of it in the second half trying to slow down the LSU Tigers, and it got so bad that they were pretty obviously faking injuries. LSU controlled time of possession in the second half, and the Auburn defense looked wiped out as LSU mounted another long drive. As a consequence, CBS cameras caught Auburn defensive lineman Big Kat Bryant moving fine before abruptly collapsing with an “injury” that was quite correctly called out by commentator Gary Danielson. The best part is Bryant clearly looking to the sideline and then going down. Trainers helped him off the field, but it was too late as everyone saw his horrible acting job. Worse, the trick didn’t work, as LSU found the end zone anyway. It’s not unprecedented for the sideline to tell a defender to fake an injury to slow down the offense — here’s a similarly obvious example. Usually, when it happens, everyone involved tries to be a little more subtle, but Auburn didn’t seem to care much here.
