    Chase Young preparing to play against Rutgers as Ohio State petitions NCAA for reinstatement

    Ohio State star defensive end Chase Young was unable to suit up last weekend but is practicing with the team this week in hopes of playing Saturday against Rutgers. Young was held out of last weekend’s game because of a loan he took from a family friend in December of last year so that he could send his girlfriend to the Rose Bowl, per reports. He admitted to taking the small loan, and repaying it. The NCAA deems it a violation, and there are reports he could be suspended four games. Head coach Ryan Day told reporters Tuesday that the team is preparing Young to play but that at this time there is no update on his status. “Yeah, I don’t have any update for you right now,” Day said, per 247 Sports. “It’s an ongoing process right now. But there’s no type of update I can give right now. I just know that it’s gong on right now and we will prepare for him to be back this week.
