Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa appears to have sustained a serious injury against Mississippi State. Tagovailoa apparently injured his hip late in the first half of Saturday’s game and had to be carted off the field. ESPN reporter Molly McGrath said Tagovailoa was “screaming in pain.” Tagovailoa was trying to escape two defenders on a fourth-down play when the injury occurred. Alabama led 35-7 at the time. Coach Nick Saban admitted the drive in which Tagovailoa got hurt was going to be his final drive of the day. Tagovailoa just returned last week after sustaining an ankle injury last month. He had been a game-time decision Saturday, and there was some surprise to see him starting.
