D’Eriq King reportedly transfers to Miami

It has been several years since the University of Miami had a reliable starter at the quarterback position, and the Hurricanes are hoping D’Eriq King changes that for the next season. King has informed the Miami coaching staff that he is transferring to the school and will begin classes next week, Manny Navarro of The Athletic reports. King preserved his final year of eligibility by appearing in just four games last season with Houston. He was one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the country in 2018 when he threw for 2,982 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. King added another 674 yards rushing and 14 scores on the ground, giving him 50 total touchdowns. Head coach Dana Holgorsen moved Houston’s offense in a different direction when he took over last season, and it was clear early on that King did not see himself as a fit any longer. He announced during the national championship game that he had entered the transfer portal. Miami is coming off an embarrassing 14-0 bowl loss to Louisiana
