    Report: Vols RB Jalen Hurd could enter supplemental draft

    Running back Jalen Hurd led the Tennessee Volunteers in rushing back in 2015 with 1,285 yards. Then a sophomore, Hurd also put up a staggering 14 touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Volunteers, Hurd left the team midway through the 2016 season due to rifts with the powers-that-be. Suggestions were that he was unhappy with the team’s offensive scheme. Despite reports that Hurd might return to Knoxville for his senior season, it looks like he will indeed remain away from the team. In fact, there’s now a decent chance that the multi-dimensional running back will enter this upcoming summer’s Supplemental NFL Draft. It surely is an interestingly dynamic to look at. As mentioned in the report above, Hurd would have to sit out a season if he were to transfer to another school. That’s a less-than-ideal scenario for a running back in today’s football world.
