Brian Johnson grew up an incredible athlete in Oakland, a hotbed for sports legends, particularly baseball stars. How incredible was he? He set the California state high school record for career hits (143), home runs (39), RBIs (164) and batting average (.530). He also set the single season state record for home runs (17) and RBIs (67).
