Fernando Tatis Jr. hit the record-tying blast during a three-run ninth inning, one of his two homers on the night.Tatis finished 3-for-4 with three extra-base hits and three RBIs, while rookie Jackson Merrill went 3-for-5 with a homer, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Kyle Higashioka, David Peralta, and Xander Bogaerts also went deep for the Friars.Yu Darvish dazzled on the mound for the Padres, scattering three hits and one run scored over seven brilliant innings.The game featured plenty of tense moments between the NL West rivals, with words being exchanged between players from both teams multiple times.
