I thought we would draft a punter at some point especially maybe the Aztec one because he is great and from SD but Staley has no intention to punt ever unless forced to... lol
He wants the offense good enough to never leave the field and defense good enough to take the ball away..... no need for a great punter....lol

          Ja’Sir Taylor, CB, Wake Forest

Taylor didn't receive an invite to the NFL Combine but posted promising numbers at his Wake Forest Pro Day. He recorded a 4.39-second 40-yard dash and a 1.54-second 10-yard split. Taylor also flashed his athleticism by registering a 37-inch vertical jump, 10’5″ in the broad jump and a 6.84 three-cone drill. He measured in at 5’11” and 188 pounds, while also completing 12 reps on the bench press.

At Wake Forest, Taylor recorded two interceptions in each of his final three seasons. In totality across his collegiate career, Taylor logged 184 tackles, six interceptions, 24 pass breakups, one sack, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

              Ja’Sir Taylor

              HEIGHT: 5-10 WEIGHT: 186
              FORTY: 4.39

              Ideal Role: Developmental slot corner

              Scheme Fit: Man

Ja’Sir Taylor brought his talents to Wake Forest after being a standout football player and track star in high school—he led his team in rushing as a senior and clocked a 10.74s in the 100 meters. He saw work as a true freshman for the Demon Deacons and was a fixture in the secondary for five seasons. Taylor saw most of his work come as an outside corner but did get a fair amount of reps in the slot. What stands out most about Taylor is his quick feet, speed, fluid hips, and competitive toughness. He has the movement skills to match steps with twitchy slot receivers and he competes above his weight class. When it comes to areas of concern, he’s an undersized corner that lacks length, functional strength, and anticipatory skills in coverage. His skill set presents challenges projecting him to a role in the slot or outside at the next level. He is an experienced special teams player that has served as a kick returner. That combined with his feet and hips to hold up in man coverage are his best qualities that give him a chance to stick in the NFL.

Also returned kicks for Wake Forest. Speed for ST and maybe some field time as a back up CB

I love the kid but he wasn’t even the best punter in this draft. It’s why he fell to the 6th.

Staley is really putting a premium on DBs with position flexibility. I think he feels like we have our outside CBs with JC and ASJ and so everyone else needs to be able to play anywhere in the secondary. Also has return skills.

This was originally the Bolts pick. So when determining the 2023 pick is where the Bears finish in 2022/23 or where the Bolts finish in 2022/23?
