I'd be very surprised to see him last past the middle of the 1st round.

haven't really taken much of a dive this year, and.... do have a few that am keeping an eye on,

my dream team prospect is WR Marvin Harrison.

my round one guy atm is ED Laiatu Latu, and as I don't have a Plan B in the first, as am slotting CB Kalen King in the second for us, as some peoples have him slotted day two.

and much like I said last go 'round that the only guy in last year's stanza that could spell Bosa, was Tuipulotu, am thinking the need pick in round two is @the OC, and is Sedrick Van Pran, and as the only guy I really much like for the OC is Eli Cox, and he is slotted 'bout 800 or so....

my third rounder of choice is LB Cedric Gray, as first thought we might be bringing Murray back, but now.... not so sure 'bout that ??

round four am looking RB, as Raheim Sanders was a consensus No. 1 or 2 overall RB to start the draft process, and like him a bit....

round five am lookin' @QB Joe Milton, round six lookin' @CB Fentrell Cypress, and WR Bru McCoy round seven.

ED, OC, LB, RB, QB, CB, WR

don't have a RT yet, nor am I much for a TE yet. no S on the watchlist yet neither....

my big board atm.... really like all three LBs, and think we're gonna have some vacancies to fill there this offseason.

          Here's my latest Fanspeak mock:

just reading how you nailed it once again w/McDuffie >> Zion >> Penning

in general, will most always go lineman ahead of defensive backfield, and will admit to not paying much attention to McDuff, albeit do recall him being your poster boy that draft.

Zion didn't do so well against Simmons & Co., but think he's held up pretty well of late.... he did pretty well against Chris Jones last time, save for that Dana sack.... we'll see where he's @Thurs nite against Jones.

well, tomorrow (Oct 21/Saturday) it looks like Kalen could make himself alotta money, as he's slotted to go up against Emeka Egbuka/Marvin Harrison.... for myself, I put alotta weight on such head 2 heads.

personally am hoping he's an Asante Samuel 2.0 in terms of draft slotting, and that we luck into him round two (as am not overly sold on drafting for need @the OC w/Sedrick Van Pran).

overall King has a good feel for things, has good anticipation, and positions himself well. he's better in man than zone, but can play both as he is scheme versatile/diverse. he's also not afraid to dig in against the run, and is a heady player that can get his hands on the ball. his compare was Jaire Alexander in one pundit's opinion.

he does come w/a cautionary tale or coupla few, and hopefully enough of the such to push him down into day two ?? some peoples question his deep/long speed, and he is undersized in some eyes as some peoples question his size (not eye as he has pretty much prototypical size for an NFL CB). others question his strength against the bigger wideouts and wonder if he gets outmuscled @the contested catch point ?? there is the sentiment that he can give up the big play, and that he could well draw more than his share of penalty flags ?? there is also the question as to whether he is better than Joey Porter who went @32.

for myself, am pretty heavily in the Laiatu Latu camp for round one, as will most always go edge/lineman before DB, and am also of the mind to resign Mike D.

if for some reason King weighs in @180 something @the Combine, and/or he measures up closer to what some have him listed @5'9.5" and rather than closer to the 5'11" 191 lbs that some have him at, will keep my fingers crossed that that and all the above might be enough to drop him down into round two consideration/availability ??

sidebar is that he has a LB twin brother who is listed @6'1" 246 lbs.

Typically, I wouldn't take an OG in the 1st. I have a hard time taking a center (I value center more than guard) in the 1st round. OT's and pass rushers are my preference in the 1st (after QB). I could see us taking a pass rusher in the 1st next year (to replace Mack). But if (I know, a big if) Bosa can stay healthy next year... and Tuli already being good... would hate to see a 1st rounder sit on the bench.

But our biggest need... by far IMO... is CB. I don't think MD comes back... with the way he's playing right now, I'm not even sure I want him back. I think we part ways with a couple really good players (cap) and bring very few FA's back. The best scenario would be if Mack and MW could fetch some 3rd round picks via trade. Then we could build. Those restructures (along with the JCJ contract) put us in a tough spot for 2024.

@center... I'm not real fond of this year's centers. If Linsley can't come back next year, we can save $9 million in cap. Maybe pick up a FA center with the money we save...? We'll have to wait for season's end to see which centers get retained.

agree.... first round should be for elite CB's, Elite QB's, elite OL, elite pass rushers at end, LBer, or DT...... and sometimes elite WR's or RB's..... not OG, or OC's..... unless they are perinial all pros....

The only OC's I can recall ranking in the 1st round (#16-30) were Frank Ragnow and Creed Humphrey.

                        I don't recall having a 1st round grade on him. He's played like a 1st rounder, though.
