Nobody so I’m looking at edge in round 2 barring a trade down. At 6 I like Bowers or Nabers. Think the Jets would come up for one of the left tackles, could trade with them and get one of the two.
Chargers depth so bad and injuries I suspect will become even more common for most teams I would trade down several times if possible.

One thing to note about Clevelands defense is that they are playing a 4-3. We need to go back to the basics on defense and to a 4-3. Kick Staleys scheme to the curb.

Looks like we could get Van Pran, Geo early 3rd but might have to pull the trigger in 2 to be sure.

I just don’t see how any GM/HC could pass up an opportunity to finally pair up Herb with a dynamic downfield threat, whether it be Bowers or Nabers. Every top tier QB has at least one, and more often two or more. Herb has bupkiss - this is a travesty. KA has been great, but was never a YAC threat. And turning 32 after missing 10 games in 2 years doesn’t help. If Father Time takes his usual toll, we’re likely talking about long stretches with Palmer & “Sippy Cup” Johnston again as Herb’s primary targets. While the former is perhaps an acceptable #2 at best, the latter can’t be trusted to hold on to a juice box without spilling it on the carpet. It’s like putting cheap, balding tires on a Ferrari.

Wade Phillips 3-4 was dynamite but had to have the right personnel. It depends on the talent and the DC. I think we'll be better off in 4-3.

Btw, Kool Aid is highly watered down. Please don’t drink it. He’s not a first rounder, IMO.

If Harbaugh/whomever new HC can get us on the W side of even half the one-score games we kept losing under Staley, that’s really all we need. There’s been way too much hubris-inspired ineptitude, these players just need the right HC/assistants to stop losing games we can win.
There are some real roster issues ahead... a lot of that will depend on getting under the cap.
KA, KM, MW, Bosa... we'll have to see what happens there. Corey Linsley's future health/availability is a big concern.
Our last 2 first-round draft picks (Zion and QJ) have not produced/developed like first-round picks should.
We have the 30th ranked pass defense (in a pass-happy league) and not much talent @CB on the 2024 roster.
No dependable starting TE... no starting caliber RB... holes along the IDL... depth problems @LB, S, OL...

A new HC/culture/draft will help. But even A+ changes to all those things will still leave us short IMO.

I don't pay attention to mocks at all. Historically, a real bad way to determine value. I like to watch tape on my own.
I'd be very interested to see who goes #1-20 in those mocks. I'd be very interested to see the CB's taken ahead of McKinstry.
IMO, college coaches know more about their opponents' talents than sports writers.
If the coaches are staying away from the Kool-Aid... I'm first in line @the punch bowl.

Our #21 Offense is even more unacceptable with Herbert at QB. We have a S load of O talent on paper. One top receiver played most of the season, KA and he's getting old.
No top RB or TE. OL is spotty. Slater is solid. Zion and Salyer were inconsistent, Linsley is done, Pipkins is consistently mediocre. Center has to be fixed. Top vet or 2nd- 3rd round.
I want a decent young RB. Rd 3-4? OC Moore and OL coach Nugent need to be replaced, among others.
HC 1st. He and his staff will have their own thoughts.
Me? I want the damn O to dominate lesser opponents and go toe to toe with the best.
                    Have I mentioned Bowers?
Lombardi leaving was supposed to solve every offensive problem we had. I was skeptical. I jumped on the Kellen Moore bandwagon.
Now the new HC will lead us to the promised land... I'm skeptical that ASJ, Ja'Sir, and Leonard will help us reach "average".

Completely agree with fixing the OL... it must be done if you want to protect the QB. Without an OL, your RB's, WR's, and TE's will have trouble producing (unless your name is Keenan Allen). I prefer a quality veteran @center. I preferred a better RT. Slayer and Zion have good college tape... so there is hope there. IMO, replacing Nugent as OL coach is off-season move #1.

Everyone has mentioned Bowers... multiple times. If you take those multiple times... and multiply them multiple times... that might be a more accurate representation of how many time Bowers has been mentioned. What hasn't been mentioned at all is... how many targets does Bowers get if he plays on a team with Keenan Allen...? Have we given up on Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnson already...? Can someone please get DD (and his elite speed) on the field...?

coaching matters, I'm looking at what the rams are doing this year and they are was supposed to be in year two of an unprecedented blow up and rebuild...even with some of the big changes to the roster, the chargers might be a a hell of a lot more competitive next year if Harbaugh is hired...if the family manages to get him the whole dynamic in the division will shift...the chargers could be looking at a nice 3-4 year run minimum...

Both semi-final games were great. Washington has a much more explosive offense than Alabama and Penix and the trio of WRs led by Odunze will be a huge challenge for Michigan's defense. They are highly rated so we'll see. On the other hand, it doesn't look like Washington has a great defense and Michigan will want to control the ball with its run game. Should be interesting. Last 2 undefeateds going at it

Rams took Puka Nacua in the 5th round and Chargers took Quentin Johnson in Rd #1

Player selection matters more than coaching. Harbaugh wouldn’t be interviewing with Chargers if we didn’t have Herbert.

This is why I want Harbaugh. He understands talent more than the bums we’ve had on our coaching staff and FO.
