Gronk is bigger, not as fast but would Gronk be Gronk without Brady? He has never had another QB. Things like that are a big key to a career.

John Jefferson....great with Fouts, could of been a HOFer. Fizzled out in Green Bay and Lynn Dicky.

Sainristil? Corum? Jenkins? Colson? Maybe AJ Barner as a day 3 blocking TE? Watching that Nat’l Champ game sure felt like a bit of window shopping. But I suppose we shouldn’t be counting chickens …
Could certainly use all those guys and Corum is ok but there are other RBs i like more. Sainristil, Colson, Jenkins the guys id like the most.

Harbaughs draft picks while coach with the niners. I expected to see mostly tranches. DBs. RBs. WR targets. My guess is he has evolved greatly and probably looks at trenches if he does in fact become coach. I think dominating trenches are the foundation of his mindset these days. But then again maybe he can elevate the game and tweak blocking scheme to fit the guys we have paid or drafted high. Pipkins. Salyer. Zion etc. Im really interested in a playmaker on offense. I want to arm Justin in a big way. But our trenches need major work. Both sides. Thats usually a good start for a new coach. Im certain in his free time if he is forward thinking about the NFL(hired an nfl agent) he has studied some film. Maybe even Herbert film. Would love to know his diagnostics on what he sees with this offense.

Proper scheme and coaching, with a FA center, gets the oline up to snuff...and away we go.
If Harbaugh is doing the picking, I am thinking more:
          1. Joe Alt
          2. Cedrick Van Pran or Jackson Powers-Johnson
          3. Braelon Allen

          Harbaugh loves his O-line.

Not that great. Hopefully we get a good GM with him.

I mean it's OK. Carradine didn't last long in the league, they traded McDonald, Lemonier was meh, Lamichael James was a bust, Looney good player, Reid was a good player, Kaepernick wasn't bad for Harbaugh, Lynch was pretty decent, Patton was meh, Ellington was a decent #3 or #4. I liked Hyde, Jenkins., bust or got hurt, don't recall which.

Shows me he is just a good HC without top talent. Didn't draft any of his own college guys.

            Who was their GM then?

Supposedly, the biggest reason he “parted ways” with the 49ers was because he couldn’t see eye to eye with the execs. I’ve read that control over personnel decisions were a driving factor. All conjecture, so who knows - bottom line is he didn’t get along with the decision makers.

So do I. We have a top LT. I wouldn't use 5 on a RT or C. BPA then shop wants / needs. I could still see a top OT just 'cause they're rare and expensive. My #5 is MHJ or Bowers.
We can do a lot for OL with OC and OL coach. Get them in place to review current personnel and potential draft picks. Balance that with GM / HC appraisal.
The OL is a team within a team. The players and OL/ OC coaches have to be on the same track.

I heard the Michigan DL outweighed Washington OL by 1500 lbs.

The result was Washington’s vaunted passing offense could never get off the ground.

Trenches matter and Chargers don’t have them. Harbaugh knows this and hopefully replaces most of these wussies.

How unfortunate we have lost the toughest OL player, Corey Linsley and left with garbage besides Slater. DL? Nobody. All of them have to go.

Anyone have any update on Pipkins’ injury? Hopefully no news is good news. Definitely changes the board if it were anything serious. And BTW, I do think the OL is capable of more than they showed this year, Pipkins included.

Michigan's defense was good - I'll give them credit, but the moment appeared to be too big for Penix. Not an ideal mental trait for an NFL QB.

Disclaimer Regarding Anything Draft Related That's Written in January:

Yeah, yeah.... a lot can happen between now, and then.

                          Anyway...

It's broadly assumed at the moment that Caleb Williams (USC) will be the draft's first overall pick.

As I understand it, Drake Maye (North Carolina) is considered next best QB prospect. Jayden Daniels (LSU) looks to be the third.

This much I'm clear on: If the Bears-- holding the #1 selection-- don't select Caleb Williams, it will be because they traded the pick to another team that DOES take him.

Next on the clock (currently) is Washington. Quarterback needy? Yes. Likely to take one at #2 overall? History would suggest that the answer is 'yes', but it's early, right?

Third on the clock is New England. QB hungry? I don't see Mac Jones as their future, do you? If they don't take a QB here, they won't get a top one after trading down. So... they have to be considered "in the mix" for selecting a QB.

Fourth is Arizona: QB hungry? Two words: Kyler Murray. Unless the Cardinals' personnel guys are absolutely NOT fans of Maye or Daniels, it isn't unreasonable to think that they'd select a QB they liked here, and officially moved on from Murray (if they can afford to.)

Now... maybe Washington, the Patriots, or Arizona feel like they can't bypass Marvin Harrison, Jr. He is, after all, the highest ranked player on a lot of draft boards. Or they can't pass on a franchise left tackle, and want Joe Alt.

If Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels slips to #5, the Bolts will probably have an opportunity to execute a trade down. But if no slippage takes place...

Brock Bowers would appear to be BPA at 5, if Harrison and Caleb Williams are gone, as expected.

The other option that stands out to me would be DL Liatu Latu (UCLA). (I'd love to see him as Tuli bookending the Bolts' D-line...)

Anybody else figure to be in play?!? I could see possibly OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu... but only after having traded down.
