Really like what I see from Estime. Super patient waiting for a hole, then has a burst, And with his size, he's a challenge for ONE guy to tackle him.

Trey Benson...I was high on him...he does break some tackles...but also disappeared in some games, low ypc in a couple games, even before they lost their QB. And even with the big 200 yd game on a handful of carries, his season and career ypc is lower than Estime, who had 6.4 vs 5.8 from Benson in 2023...and I dont see a gap in relative competition, and looking at game logs, Estime more consistent...receiving stats pretty close with edge to Benson...

Bottom line...not sure Estime isnt my favorite this year. But thats highlights and stats...deeper dive for athletic upside and pass pro ability needed.

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Watched an interview and he seems to think Tennessee is going to draft him at #7. I don't think he makes it out of the first round at all because even KC would draft him to replace Kelce at 31-32 pick.

Not that we need any more evidence of Harbaugh’s qualifications, but it is interesting to note what he had to work with at UM (re: recruiting classes). Across his 9 yr tenure, his classes averaged about 14th best (247Sports), with not a whole lot of 5 star recruits (maybe 1 a yr). Contrast with ‘Bama, UGA, & OSU, who consistently draw top 1-4 classes with multiple 5 stars every stinkin’ year. So the fact that he was able to finish #3, #3, and #1 the last 3 years is pretty freakin amazing.

Additionally, that talent pool eventually hits the NFL draft in the form of multiple 1st rounders being drafted from each of those other aforementioned schools every yr. UGA had 5 1st rounders selected in ‘22! UM has averaged about one 1st rounder a yr - almost always a defensive player. Also interesting is that not many UM draftees have gone on to experience stardom (Aidan Hutch notwithstanding), although a few are having nice careers. Not an indictment, but rather a testament to Harbaugh’s ability to coax the the absolute most out of his players.

                Michigan 1st rounders under Harbaugh:
                2023 - Mazi Smith (#26 overall)
                2022 - Aidan Hutchinson (#2), Daxton Hill (#31)
                2021 - Kwity Paye (#21)
                2020 - Cesar Ruiz (#24)
                2019 - Devin Bush (#10), Rashan Gary (#12)
                2018 - None
                2017 - Jabrill Peppers (#25), Taco Charlton (#28)
                2016 - None

So with all that said, what do y’all think about the UM prospects this year and how they’ll translate to the NFL?

Kris Jenkins - Honestly not sure about him as high as he’s been projected.
Roman Wilson - Small but great route runner with some juice.
Blake Corum - Nothing special except he just gets it done & is quite amazing at hiding behind his blockers.
                Junior Colson - Thumper
Mike Sainristil - Small but always in the right place
Zak Zinter - Looks like a beast & a real people mover
Drake Nugent - Small but mobile and feisty
AJ Barner - Strong blocker with some untapped athleticism. Definitely one of my draft hopefuls
                Michael Barrett -

All good players but none are elite talents that you typically see stacked up on a national champ winning team. Truly amazing what Harbaugh was able to do with these guys.

Very good North/south runner with some nice quick cuts. Basically a no bullshit running back that's extremely efficient.

Academics at Stanford and to a lesser extent Michigan made recruiting more challenging for Harbaugh. But he made it work at both schools.

Looks can be deceiving. If I had never seen Brock Bowers before, I would have thought that was Ladd McConkey.

I'm finding myself more interested in day 3 prospects because there's just so many ways we can go in rounds 1-3 and I'll trust Joe completely with every pick but especially those.
I want to see who he considers to be a value on day 3.
