I agree. I am not a draftnik, but these 2 guys look really good. i would fine getting either at 5 and getting the rest of the "groceries" after that.

1.5 yrs in Minnesota he has 155. Not sure why they didn't use him more but it Minnesotas gain. They had a good TE and underutilized him. Last season before he got hurt he had 95 for 960 yards.

Gates in all his seasons and a sure HOF er at some point, only had TWO 1000 yard seasons.

Engram.... Dude has been a stud in Jax.

He had shitty QBs in NY. With Jax the past two seasons he had 73 catches in 2022 and 114 last season. He assending his game in a better system like all good players can but if you are stuck with a mediocre QB, well you won't get the stats you can.

No Ravens receiver is going to have big stats with Lamar. dude has never thrown for 4k yards.

With Harbaugh , Herbert will never throw for 5k again and Doubt Keenan sees 100 again. We won't throw enough to see that. Probably gonna see a 100 -150 less pass attempts.

JJ McCarthy threw 25 times or more in 6 games last season. 30 or more in two of those 6,... in 15 games.
        332 att for the season.

Now I think Herbert will throw more than that but probably end up in the 500 hundreds somewhere instead of the near 700 he has had.

Seeing that we will run a lot, we don't need 3 first round WRs but we do need a stud TE.....and ,maybe we draft Roman Wilson in round 3 for example. Keenan can probably play 3 more seasons anyway.

We'll see what they do with his contract.
I agree with most of what you write... we're going to throw less and run more. We probably don't need a 1st round WR.
I understand that Harbaugh courted Bowers. I also know that he won a National Championship with a TE that probably goes in the 6th round (Barner) and another TE that might go in the 3rd or 4th round (Loveland). So, no, I don't believe Harbaugh needs a stud TE. He needs some TE's that will play within Harbaugh's system.

Marc Trestman (just hired) had a good TE in 2013 and 2014 as HC with the Bears. Hell, he even caught 90 receptions in 2014. Of course, he never caught more than 55 receptions any other time in his 10 year career. Some guys just need the right system... stud or not.

You know who needs a stud? Atlanta needs a QB... so does Minnesota. If only 2 QB's go in the Top-4, a bidding war @#5 starts.
Now, if 3 QB's go #1-4... not so much. But you know who else needs a stud...? NYJ. They need a LT to protect Old Man Rogers and his millions. I bet they'd give up a bit to get the best LT in college football. Joe Alt would certainly fit that bill. Jets might think that Fashanu might make it to #10. But if we select Alt @#5... and Titans choose Fashanu... well, that leaves them with a RT @#10.

#10 or #11 sure looks nice... CB, EDGE, RT... a couple extra picks for Minter's defense might be nice, too.

        Protect the QB
        Run the ball
        Play great defense

The ONLY OT in the draft with decent run blocking AND pass blocking skills is Alt:

And the best run and pass blocking C in the draft is this guy:

It actually wouldn't surprise me if Harbo went 1-2 in the draft with both these guys. And it isn't even close from each of them to the next players at their positions.

We don't NEED a stud tight end.

Gerald Everett's numbers with us in the one year he played a full season with Justin Herbert: 58 receptions, 555 yards, and four touchdowns.

Tyler Higbee's numbers as the starting tight end of the Super Bowl-winning Rams in 2021: 61 receptions, 560 yards, and five touchdowns.

So, since Dru Tranquill was one of KC's leading tacklers and they just won the Bowl, we WILL be getting a 3rd round compensation pick. Right??! ...

The league better not front on us!

Also if we stay at 5 Joe Alt will probably be the highest rated player on the board and is exactly what we need at RT! With Slater on one side & Alt on the other and a top OC in the draft we should be able to "Dominate the Day"!

Alt is #3 on the big board at tankathon. as much as i like Bowers and Nabers, i can't fight against picking Alt.

My brain tells me Alt. My heart says Bowers.

Actually if we do draft Alt there's no reason drafting another OT prospect right?
