I wouldn't be disappointed with Bowers, but they'd be passing up on a better player at a position of need.
But TE is a much bigger position of need and we need 2 or 3 of them.....so that's an easy one for me. Hec WR to me isn't that big a need compared to other areas but in this class I'm taking one anyways.
    1. Mason Taylor TE LSU
    2. Quinshon Judkins RB Ohio st
    3. Kyle Kennard Edge So. Carolina

    4. CJ West DT Indiana
    5. Don'te Thornton WR Tennessee
    6. Zah Frazier CB UTSA
    6. Jarquez Hunter RB Auburn
    6. Jay Higgins LB Iowa
    6. Hunter Wohler S Wisconsin
    7. Carson Vinson OT Alabama

Jamar Chase ain’t do no combine.

But whatever this guy is Jamar Chase and he can play. I follow all the LSU recievers.

      This guy has it all.

And in terms of talent. He is right up there with Beckham Jefferson and Chase.

I’m just going by what I saw.

Don’t draft Need in the draft. Especially round 1 especially top 5. Take best talent.

IF he's Jamar Chase MN will run in the 4.3's like Chase did at his pro day!

            Genius take.

Johnston doesn’t look anything special to me. Chargers have to make sure they get a home run hitter.

Let's see!? Jamarr Chase is on pace to be a hall of famer and runs in the 4.3's! To say he's Chase, Nabers needs to run his 40 under 4.4!

As of right now Nabers ran a 4.44 and had a 38 vertical. Chase ran in the 4.3's at his pro day and had a 41 vertical!

I would be very surprised if they took a WR at 5. Just does not feel like a Harbaugh Hortiz pick. Bowers at 5 seems closer to the type or player they would draft at 5. Not only a need but also one of the BPA. Oline seems like a pick they would do. I also just do not see them going Oline either with Pips contract. I can see them drafting a OT in the mid rounds like OT Roger Rosengarten to compete with Pip. I think they go C before any other Oline unless they sign a C in free agency.

Those are guys I can take over these skill guys.

Hes not a Walter Jones. Those are guys walls for Quarterbacks.

When we said he didn’t grade as high as Stanley why would you want to take him over a guy like Nabers or Bowers or Oudenzie.

When you can possibly get a Jordan Morgan round 2 late first round trading back in. From Arizona who might be just as good as Alt.

Thats all there’s gonna be a lot of Tackle talent Alabama Tackle Guyton later in the rounds.

so a guy who is not a as good as Slater why reach so high???
If we're going to compare Alt to all of the greatest OT's to play the game... then we have to compare your preferred players to the game's best too.

Is ________ as good as Jerry Rice?
Is ________ as good as [insert your perceived greatest TE]?
Is ________ as good as Lawrence Taylor?
Is ________ as good as Deione Sanders?

All of the sudden... none of this year's prospect are worth the #5 pick.

But more specifically, compare players [top-5 to top-11] to each other... and don't forget your coach's preference or GM's tendencies. They want to run the ball and protect the franchise QB. They want to play defense. They want to accumulate draft picks.

If Hortiz can find a trade partner, he'll want to trade back to a spot his coach feels comfortable with.
If that spot is #10 or #11, then envision who the coach thinks is the best player to help them run better, protect the franchise QB, or play better defense.

I can think of several players... none of them are WR or TE. I'm thinking RT, CB, or DE.
                        Protect the QB
                        Run the ball
                        Play great defense

the Giants: M. Williams, Quentin Johnson, Dylan Cantrell

the average guy: Keenan Allen, Josh Palmer
I can still remember the Reed’ers here at TPB calling for him to be used like Deebo … he was going to be so big for the offense! Lol … I said he sucked at the time and eventually even his booster uncle here at TPB finally gave up on his nephew.

Cantrell - first piece of college tape I saw of that dude and it was just so obvious he would never get open in the NFL. And he never did. Again, he had a measurable contingent of TPB Can-Too’s here looking at him as the great next tweener TE/WR phenom, DB’s wouldn’t handle his size and LBs wouldn’t cover him. Turned out nobody couldn’t cover him and his size was useless, just as I expected.

I learned my tweener less long ago on Jacob Fucking Hester. Tweeners never work out, NFL is a game of specialists.
