the list just keeps growing - its almost like whack a mole
need a LB - drafted or signed that
up pops IDL - hit that
up pops TE room - hit that

I know Harb/Hortiz are the right duo -- I just am not trying to get my hopes up - just yet

Sayler to RT. It's up to the coaches not you.

No a 4th round TE will not cut it. The time to get a TE was last year. We missed the boat. Now there is exactly one TE that will help the Chargers His name is Bowers and he's a top
5 talent this year. Whether you like him or not. Again it's up to the Chargers to decide. I am fine with Alt or somebody else. I favor Bowers because in my opinion the O line can be
fixed with the talent we have plus drafting an OG or two and it won't take a 1st rounder. Bowers gives us an offensive weapon which we desperately need. Imagine if Williams is let
go and Allen gets injured. We would be in deep s**t.
Just because a guy started last year, it doesn't automatically make him a starter next year. You upgrade weak positions... it's the whole point to the draft. There is only 1 question: Can Pippy run block... can Pippy protect Herbert? The answer has been, no. If your new coach and your new GM want to run and protect... then Pippy probably ain't next year's starter.

I'm not against trying Salyer @RT. But that will be up to the coach and GM. Not you. Not me.

The Ravens got it done with a 4th round TE last year. His name is Isaiah Likely. It's comical that you think there is only one exact guy @TE that you think can help the Chargers... We're going to run the ball, and protect the QB. The coach has said it (done it) over and over again. We're going to play defense. We're going to trade back for extra picks. Again, the GM has said this (done this) over and over again.

      Protect the QB
      Run the ball
      Play great defense

Correct - when you are 5-12
        all bets are off

I'm really starting to hope the Chargers trade down into the top 10-12. There are a lot of guys I like and they have so many positions they can upgrade. Nabers would be my choice if they stick at 5, but there are a lot of choices of guys who could help this team long term and an additional late first or second rounder would help a lot. Players who may (some definitely will) be available from 8-12 who I would be happy to have on the team:

          Bowers
          Odunze
          Fashaunu
          Fuaga
          Arnold
          Latham
          DeJean
          Newton
          Mitchell

Bottom line is what helps the team more. Say a player at 11 and another 2nd and 4th rounder or one Brock Bowewrs or Nabers

again, not trading back unless some team overpays and the Chargers get what they get - but understand the team needs multiple players.

Pippy? LOL....I think the chargers should draft an OT in this draft, question is, will it be early or in the middle rounds?

Pipkin's strength is run blocking and in Roman's system he'll have a lot more help in pass pro than we've seen in the previous offenses which asked the OTs to play on an island for most of the game...plus an improved run scheme will take even more pressure off of the O-line...I know you don't like Trey and they might draft someone to groom for a year to replace him in 2025, but I think he's still starting in 2024 and I feel fairly comfortable predicting that everyone on that line (including Trey) will have a better 2024 than they did in 2023...

they will get a center either in FA or in the draft and improve the depth at OT this offseason, BUT I still think the defense is where the biggest rebuild will happen...

I like the top 3 centers in this draft...JPJ, Frazier, and Sedrick Van Pran...but...there is a bit of seperation between Van Pran and the rest...I almost want to drop him down into the second tier...he has real trouble sometimes at the second level. I was watching a lengthy Deijun Edwards video to see what Beachcomber is on about...but after awhile I started watching Sedrick...and he has some startling whiffs...but for now, Ill keep him on my wishlist, with the hopes he can get coached out of those mistakes...I mean, he gets out there nicely...but overshoots. Certainly correctable...

My dream scenario, outside of Bowers, is to trade back, nab Fuaga, then use that capitol with our 2 to trade back up and get JPJ...then add Estime in the third...

                Power/gap paradise...

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Here's a few moles to whack:

                    1. A solid CB
                    2. ANOTHER solid CB
                    3. A solid C
                    4. A solid RT
                    5. A solid OG-C for depth
                    6. A solid backup QB
                    7. A solid FS

                    It never ends...

The list is pretty darn long.... I know they have the right people with Harbaugh and Hortiz.

We fans love flashy players, mostly WR and such. BUT we cannot drat another WR in round #1. THAT is NOT how to build a smash mouth team. Harbaugh wants a culture change. You do that with trench beast and smash ball LB.
Trade back once or twice and we could end up with 4 for sure starters. !!!
It's not the specific player that is needed BUT players that fit you agenda.

Great point there, Ice...if we have a solid O-line, both in run blocking and pass pro, we can even get by with wideouts of the caliber of Inman and Tutu...and Slayer and Palmer are a LOT better than those two...QJ still needs some coaching up on the drops, but I actually like our wideout room as is...once we get both our O and D lines in good shape, THEN look to upgrade at wideout...now, having said that, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on a wideout Day 3, or signing a decent FA WR for depth at the right price...
