Interesting, Tice doesnt think Joe Alt is a Jim Harbaugh type tackle becaus he is more of a "finesse tackle"

There is one guy that I'm REALLY hoping we will spend a Day 3 pick on. His name is X'Zauvea Gadlin and he is a G/C from Liberty University. Our family is rooting hard for him as he is my son's good friend from high school. He's at the combine, so keep an eye out for him on Monday.

X'Zauvea (pronounced Eggs - ZAH - vee - a) is an excellent athlete who played QB on my son's junior high football team. He was physically the biggest person on the field, even bigger than the OL, but was athletic enough to run the offense. He moved to the offensive line in HS, started as a sophomore at a 5A HS in Texas (aka big time HS football), played all five OL positions and played them well.

He is extremely intelligent, VERY outgoing, and is the kind of guy that, right after you meet him, makes you feel like you've been friends for years. Also, X'Zauvea (trombone) and my son (trumpet) were two of the three guys on the varsity football team that would march in the halftime show in their football uniforms. So he is very musically talented, including singing, as well. Not that important in football, but it shows that he is a very well-rounded person.

After high school, he went to the University of Tulsa and played all five positions there as well, primarily Center and Guard. After graduating from Tulsa, he entered the transfer portal and went to Liberty University where he worked on his Master's degree. At Liberty, he again played primarily Center and Guard. He doesn't quite have the length to be an NFL Tackle, but he definitely does have the quickness and size to play inside.

So, if there are any Chargers' personnel reading this, please spend some time getting to know X'Zauvea and make him a priority on your draft list. You will be getting an excellent, moldable, high-motor, versatile player, but even better than that, a really great person!

Here's an link to an interview he did with The Draft Network.com

Liberty Flames offensive lineman X’Zauvea Gadlin is a versatile and experienced prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Tip would be round 4 or 5.

Great blockers--underutilized in the passing game.

        Good call Bilg.
I think they could double dip with the TE in this draft.

        Jared Wiley
        Cade Stover
        Brevyn Spann-Ford

Are other TEs that I wouldn’t mind either.

Very impressive for a man of his size

I think these are two very likely targets for the Chargers along with AJ Barner.
          McClachlan
          Johnson
          Reimann
          Knox
          = standing out …

Sinnot respectable, was looking for more

          Stover, Holker, Sanders, Bell underwhelm
Bowers declines to participate - disappointing for a guy hoping to be a top 5 pick. He ain’t a QB.

Johnson was the best of the upper tier graded (pre-combine). McClachlan, Reimann and Knox improved their stock as dark horses.

            Watching recorded combine...

            Very deep CB class...

I want TE Tip Reiman...270 with a 4.64 40? Smoked the sled...looked good catching the ball, nailing the gauntlet...

My consolation prize if we pass on Bowers...hell, even if we take Bowers, I want him...like a 6th olineman.

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Been adament there isnt a top 10 defender in this draft...but after Senior Bowl and combine, I can look past Q Mitchell playing at Toledo...he looks like he belongs with the Big Boys, and maybe top 10...and I got Arnold hovering right around 10 also.

Holker needs some Ben Herbert/pro athletic development...but he is a naturally gifted pass catcher...very late developmental pick.

Theo Johnson is a project. Good speed but he isn't much as a blocker and isn't anything special. Agree Reiman and Barner are more promising. Wouldn't doubt JH likes Barner here. Like Reimans size and he moves well.

Wu...Theo Johnson? Ill give him another look...but he was horrible blocking in space vs Ohio St. Several whiffs...he gets on a guy, good drive...but a lot of guys sidestepped him. Maybe just a bad game...

I didnt count but he seemed to drop as many/more than any TE today. tough day for the young man, I’m not going to say its representative of his prospects. He ran slow too, 4.7’s i think.

It was interesting watching DB pass defense drills, which ones caught with their hands and which caught with their arms. Definitely a reason some of them aren’t WRs lol.
