Pip is the RT, not Salyer.
It's between Alt & Pip, and i'm not sure Alt would be an improvement his first year there.
They'd still have to get interior Olinemen after picking Alt.
A center in the 2nd/3rd, another guard in the 4rth/5th ...... anything later is throwing darts blindfolded.
How many top 150 picks do you want to spend on Olinemen?
Yeah, I know... I was responding to someone who suggested Salyer @RT. That's risky IMO.
Alt is a consensus Top-10 prospect... and there are plenty of examples of college LT's converting to RT.
Linsley's illness forces a pick @center (probably 2nd round) regardless of who the 1st round pick.
If we're picking an OG in the 4th (your plan) then we're picking two picks in top-150 anyways.
Protect Salyer @RG (with a better RT) and see if he improves with better coaching/scheme.
The OL has to get better. It's kind of strange that people are already giving up on Zion and Salyer.
Meanwhile, Pipkins has had 5 years to get better. He couldn't even beat out Storm Norton (in his 3rd year no less).
Let Pipkins play swing tackle (nothing wrong with depth)... then save yourself some 2025 cap and cut him after 2024. That $6.75m could be better spent in 2025.
And Look at Jordan Williams look at his tape he might just be as good as Alt but because he went to Arizona nobody is talking about him. End of first round.
But look at Arizonas Quarterback they had huge success Jed Fish running the football and throwing that’s because Jordan Williams the offensive line. It all starts up front. So if I could potentially get this guy in the 2nd round or trade up into late into the 1st round. Who’s gonna give me what Alt gives me maybe more then why would I take Alt at 5 with all that elite skill talent on the board. M
Lathan people arguing him over Alt that’s a red flag to me on Alt. It’s telling me he’s not as elite as people say he is.
And we want to take the best player at 5. If that’s a tackle fine. But as I’ve stated in previous posts the elite talent best players on the board will be Bowers and Nabers. And I think that’s where we’re going.
coming from College these guys got a leg up on some of these NFL guys just knowing whose game does what seeing them. In an NFL season it’s all NFL.
1. Caleb Williams
2. Harrison Jr.
3. Drake Maye
4. Malik Nabers
5. Brock Bowers
6. Joe Alt
7. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean
8. Rome Odunze
9. Clemson CB Nate Wiggins
10. Oregon State OT Taliese Fuaga
This is a talent evaluation, and doesn't take into account that QBs are at a premium and QBs who are rated lower often will be drafted higher just because of that premium.
