Now there are reports coming out of NE that they will not take Maye, maybe not even a QB. Take it with a grain of salt.

Liar's month...around this time of the year, if you hear a report about what a team claims they'll do in the draft, it's frequently the EXACT OPPOSITE...
(Though it could also be the good old double-reverse psychology...)

Yup. On the other hand there around 8 teams that would need a QB that don't draft in the top 3..
This would be a good strategy to start a bidding war.

Not sure the double reverse works anymore in the NFL. I'm going with the fake punt.

What it means is a team like the Giants could be a trade partner to move up to 3 or maybe the Falcons etc. etc. etc. Would not be a stupid thing for them to do if they can get fields with a second rounder and draft another player.
Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

There are about 8 teams that would need a QB. This could very well be advertising for a bidding war. Russel Wilson visiting Pitt and NYG.
Things can change after FA. We still don't know about Fields or Cousins.

Just a friendly reminder that it's not just about the QBs. The #5 spot is also open for trade for a WR. There are 2-3 WRs that will be available depending on how the 1st 4 picks go.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

Yes but you can only pillage if it's a QB. QB F Tag is about $50M. No other position even comes close and there are good reasons why.
Same applies to the draft. GM go overboard when it comes to QBs. Other positions not so much.

Just about every mock I've looked at for the last month.
SI has the Chargers trading back to #11 (smart move). The Giants take Nabers @#6. Alt goes to the Titans @#7.
Zierlein has Alt going @#7. Nabers goes @#9... so that's not even accurate.
USA, ESPN, PFF are subscription sites... so I'll take your word for it. But I'd guess they have the Chargers trading back and Nabers going after #5. I would also guess that those sites have numerous writers and numerous mocks. Maybe you're just cherry-picking...?

I haven't seen Nabers go 5 (or better) in any mocks. Whereas, I've seen Alt go @#5 numerous times. I've seen him go @#2 a handful of times.

You're just going to have to get used to Harbaugh/Roman/Hortiz philosophy. Run the ball... protect the QB.

That maybe before the combine. Things change. Some mocks now have us taking MH2 (when available) or Nabors. A month ago it was Alt.
Not cherry picking. Somebody said (not sure it was you) that Alt was ahead of Nabors, Odzunze in most mocks. That's false. Alt and Bowers
both have moved down in the most recent mocks. I've even seen mocks with us taking Latham, Fuaga or Fashanu ahead of Alt. Trading
down is for sure still lingering around in some mocks.

You may have to get used to Hortiz who said "you take the best available" At @5 that is not Alt. I could see it IF they trade down. It's
not written in stone just yet. FA may change things. If we're going to run the ball then we'll need a good RB, which we don't have.
So there is a lot to contemplate. Not to mention a starting center.

Ten hours ago. No cherry picking. Just googled mock drafts and the latest mocks came up...

Imho Bowers' agent gave him bad advice for waiting for pro days. If you're the labelled best TE prospect ever we want to see you in the combine.

The only exception is if he was injured.

He was coming off ankle surgery/ Cant blame him for waiting for his pro day
