From what we are learning about how Harbaugh intends to the build the offense, Brock Bowers is not his kind of tight end? Tell me I'm wrong. Bowers is a WR in a somewhat larger body. But nobody talks about him as a good blocking TE, he is only 230 lbs.

I read he weighed 243 at the combine

Kelce obviously has more than helped. He’s been a key. He’s also had a LOT of playoff games which allows him to aggregate large stats. How many years left does he have? 1? 2? Probably not more than 2.

An elite TE weapon that also blocks is a special value to an offense. He has proven it. Bowers Fans rejoice in your observation. Alas - I think we just emptied the top shelf of our WR room and BPA is also lining up with top skill player need at WR unless we trade down and then its a matter of how the board is at the time of our later pick.

plus, word on the street is Hortiz said … lol
Chiefs are just fucking with the NFL at this point. You think we can only win by outscoring you? Try this MF'ers. We're gonna hit on a 7th round RB, a second round WR and beef up the defense a bit. By the way, thanks Chargers for Drue.

Bowers weighed in at 243 at the combine I thought? Also, TE Vernon Davis with the 49ers was about 6'3 248 when he was Jim Harbaugh's TE! I believe in 2013 he had over 800 receiving yards and 13TD's...

I think the less talented team won the last 2 Super Bowls.
But the winning team was better coached with smarter players executing better. Also needed some critical mistakes by opponents during and on the way there, a missed PAT, not to mention Buffalo being without Milano and White, and missing a makable FG.
Then the play with Mahomes juking Warner to get inside the 5. If not for that they may have ran out of time.
Stats may not have shown it but Mahomes is the MVP by a mile.

Bowers must've drank 10 lbs of water before the weigh-in.

Harbaugh inherited Vernon Davis. But he acquired Vance McDonald (2nd rnd 2013) and Garrett Celek (UDFA 2012), both of whom were blockers.

243 lbs...from the combine. Georgia had him at 240 on their roster. Bowers will do more than just be a inline TE. He is a versatile player.

If you want a receiver to pair with QJ and replace MW look at Johnny Wilson WR, FSU. Dude is 6'7, 240 lbs and runs a 4.5 40. He would be a good fit in this offense and could be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

Harbaugh inherited Davis but he featured him in his offense and didn't get rid of him the moment he touched down in SF!

I'm pretty sure Harbaugh would know how to make the most of a talent like Bowers he tried to recruit him to play at Michigan for a reason, right?

Steve Smith didn't like him much at all.

I think Harbaugh will prioritize blocking over receiving in his TE acquisitions.

He can do a lot of things, but so can Malik Nabers, and probably a little better. Harbaugh I believe looks at TEs as blockers, and that's not going to be Bowers' strength. I still think Bowers downed 10lbs of water before he was weighed at the combine. He's listed at 230 here. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb...-bowers-1.html
