Daniels had a reg season rating of 70. They sure did pay him, that doesn’t mean they didn’t fuck up. I’m ok with them denying it another season and sucking longer but its inevitable.
Every Daboll fanboy in TPB, and there’s a many, insist he’s a great coach and it’s only his QB that has denied him the rep deserved. I agree his QB sucks, still waiting on that if-not but greatness part but thats just me.

When one looks at the resume of one Don "Wink" Martindale - they see he was the DC at Western Kentucky from 2000-2003. The head coach at that time was a man by the name of Jack Harbaugh. I think I read Jim used to hang around at times kind of as a volunteerOriginally posted by richpjr View Post

Just connecting the dots... granted, would prefer Minter but Wink wouldn't stink.

There is talk on here about trading back and picking up more picks but not much about staying put, and trading back into the 1st rnd. If you are of the opinion that the Chargers have a lot of holes to fill then the likelihood that they fill them all in one year is highly unlikely. Wouldn't it be better if they get a couple cornerstone pieces?ADOPTED BOLT: Quentin Johnson
Season: WK 10
REC: 32
YARDS: 460
TDs: 6
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

No - because the risk is too high that the pick might be another top ten pick,.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View PostThere is talk on here about trading back and picking up more picks but not much about staying put, and trading back into the 1st rnd. Now for Houston, that worked out fine as they were very good so the pick for AZ will be in the 20's and not top 5. But I would prefer to keep picks and not push my chips in just yet. I don't want to give up the future now when the Chargers are picking high enough in Round 2 to get another solid player

It's going to depend on how things shake out on draft day. Study the top picks and who needs a QB and you'll understand why trading down can be a viable choice.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View PostThere is talk on here about trading back and picking up more picks but not much about staying put, and trading back into the 1st rnd. I totally get that, but hypothetically if the Chargers take either Nabers/Bowers @5 and the other one is still on the board @ 8-10 would you trade back into the 1st to pick the other one? Or if MHJ is there at #5 you take him and Bowers is on the Board say at #10 would you trade back into the 1st to pick him up? I believe I would. Herbert/ wr of choice/ Bowers would be solid building blocks for the future.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

Oh don't get me wrong I totally understand why trading down is a viable choice but I also see viability into trading back in to the 1st rnd.Originally posted by charger1_sj View Post

Oh they did fuck up. No way id have paid him 40 mil. And that is what im saying. They cant trade that. Sure they can draft another QB but who is going to trade for Jones and his contract? He has 36 mil guaranteed this season. 2024 anyway he is going to cost the Giants.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

Signing him to that deal was just terrible.

No...we cant afford to be giving picks away. We would either need to trade back to #8 and get extra picks or just draft one at #5.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View Post

Agreed, trading back into the top 10 in addition to the 5th pick would cost way too much. If the board looks okay after the 4th pick, trading back makes sense. But if only two QBs for in the first four picks - might be okay to stay put. Granted, if Daniels is there - some team might really overpay - which wouldn't be badOriginally posted by Boltjolt View Post
