the other consideration is that it is not altogether uncommon to see the guards listed as late as round three.... ??

and know it's only one sample run, and.... Hortiz did trade up and not down last stanza, and.... if he goes lineman in the first again, then who's to say he doesn't move up for a skill player early in round two ??

again it's not entirely uncommon to see one of the two TEs, along w/Fanin listed mid second, let alone an RB or couple few listed before we would pick round two, and so.... would Joe make his move again to nab a coveted skill position player ??

personal suspicion is that they allocate some monies to bring in a vet OG, and let Bozeman wait on the sidelines 'til after the draft, and see if Jared Wilson or someone else fills the bill for them @the OC ??

fact is that they went Alt before Nabers last go 'round, and then jumped in line for Ladd.... personal suspicion is that it more likely they repeat something of the such, rather than trade down ??

personally would be surprised if Jeanty or either of the TEs are on their board, and rather it's guys like Kenneth Grant, Savaiinaea, Sawyer, Deone Walker, Donovan Jackson or Tuimoloau who are on their board ??

and if they did move up for someone early round two, think they are looking RB well before they would even consider a pass catcher TE or WR, and that Omarion Hampton really fits what we do well, and that he stands the best chance of being our Ladd McConkey of this go 'round ??

if we don't move up, then thinkin' the most likely move if we stay pat round two, is to not wait around on the either of TreVeyon Henderson or Nicholas Singleton, as they would want to ensure they get one of those guys (and not hold out for any perceived better value by waiting 'til round three for an RB, and given they could then miss out on the both of 'em) ??
I think Hampton stands the best chance of being off the board before the start of Rd2. If he is really their guy, they have to take him late Rd1 and live with not taking an alternative thats on the board. I see Henderson and Singleton both there, but as you advise I expect they are both gone by the time we pick late Rd3

What nobody, including me, is answering is this: How do we build that unbeatable trench AND add premier skill players in 2025.

ok, I did have the answer, nobody seems to like it: Go sign proven starting IOL vets. Unlike WRs and RBs, who can fall off a cliff at age 28, good IOL players normally continue to play well into their low 30's. FA IOL are cheaper than FA WRs. RBs are the fastest worn out and useless.

TE watch tonight....Penn State vs the Irish...

Ty Warren...I dont need to explain...

But if we dont get a shot at him, or another dynamic TE...but manage to fortify the IOL, add a playmaker elsewhere(RB, WR?)...we still need work in the TE room. Will Dissly has been really good for us...he may not be a game changer, but he makes the offense work. Would be nice if we had 2 of him...so...check out sleeper TE Mitchell Evans for the Irish.

Classic inline TE, with all the blocking chops...but also good hands and a feel for the zone...good football IQ...

Like Dissly, he wont break a game open...he is no Bowers, Laporta, Kelce...but paired with Dissly, he brings incredible depth to the TE group, and allows us to put two monsters on the field in 12 personnel...either one of which can catch the ball and move the chains when needed...

Outside of Warren/Loveland, a great midround solution for our thin TE room...and you can put eyes on him tonight.
      Lone Bolt's Final Mock

Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Would rather take Mason Taylor who is a better pass catcher, though Taylor will require a 2nd to 4th round pick, I think Evan 5 -7 round pick.

This guy has the Chargers taking Warren at #26, the Broncos having drafted Loveland a few picks earlier.

TE Mason Taylor is a little better blocker as well! Could be a great 4th round pick if we miss out on the BIG-2! If we end up drafting someone like OG-OT Wyatt Milum or OG Booker in the first Taylor would be perfect, again in the 4th!

Mason Taylor is a day 2 pick...or early 4th, way before we pick, IMO...Evans is a day 3 value...but my point was...you can watch him tonight!

But at a glance, Taylor looks a little better, I agree...

I agree, think it would take our 3rd.

I know you were lol, I just dont want a big lumbering Notre Dame TE...I want more threats on this offense!

My later round TE wish is Elijah Arroyo

I saw a blurb that said that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will not be at the NFL Draft, and are planning a separate party. Roger Goodell won't have anyone to hug for at least 2 picks at first.

This is my thought as well. OG is getting a bit more expensive in FA (the cap is going up), but it's still not a "premium" position. The same is true of RB. Even the premier FA RBs don't earn what weak #2 FA WRs do. Those are the positions we should be spending our FA dollars on.

The bigger issue is WR is pretty weak in this draft class. I don't think where the Chargers pick they can get a game changer like a Brian Thomas Jr., who was in that range last year.

A lot can change between now and the draft when it comes to team needs and draft position. Other than QB and OT, I don't think there is a position that the Chargers can't upgrade (or at least add desperately needed depth). But the glaring needs aren't as many as last year.

                        I'm a Taylor fan - I think Rd 3 is his last, possibly 2.
