I don't know what talking to a player proves. They talk to almost everybody. That is the point. And the whole point of due diligence is to make sure you ask the questions. He doesn't get taken off the list until you hear the bad answers.

In a few years, Mayfield may be a FA, and we may need a QB, so at that point you would want to go back and look at the notes on the guy and see what you thought then, and how that thinking may have changed with time.

I'm probably the only one who does'nt like Mayfield. As a QB I think he can be really good but mentally he reminds me of Ryan Leaf.

Yeah Qb's like Mayfield and Manziel has all the physical traits to be great QB's but mentally they are not ready or prepared for the NFL imo. After going through that with Leaf I would rather pass on drafting a player like Mayfield. Theres a reason these types of players don't last long in the NFL.
